Benjamin L. Rouse
was born on March 23, 1980, in
Emmetsburg, Iowa. He was raised on a
farm near Ayrshire, Iowa, and
graduated from Emmetsburg High
School in 1998. Ben then attended
Iowa State University where he
received his B.S. in Agronomy in
2002.
After graduating from Iowa State,
Ben attended S.J. Quinney College of
Law at the University of Utah in
Salt Lake City. He received his J.D.
with a Certificate in Environmental
and Natural Resource law in 2005.
While in law school, Ben worked as a
Faculty Research Assistant for the
University of Utah Law Library and
was a judicial intern for
Administrative Law Judge Harvey
Sweitzer at the United States
Department of the Interior, Office
of Hearings and Appeals.
After graduation, Ben returned to
Iowa and was admitted to the Iowa
Bar in September, 2005. Ben joined
the firm as an associate in October,
2005 and became a partner in 2008.
He is currently President of
the Dallas Center Rotary Club,
Secretary/Treasurer of the Dallas County Bar and
a member of the Iowa
State Bar Association.
Ben is in Dallas Center most of the
week, but is in the Grimes office on
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
In his general practice, his areas
of practice include: real estate;
wills, trusts, estate planning, and
probate; taxation law and tax
returns; agricultural law; business
organizations and commercial law;
and family law.
Ben and his wife, Lauri, live in
Grimes with their son Oliver. Lauri works in the activities
department at Spurgeon Manor care
facility in Dallas Center and is
also an adjunct instructor in English
and creative writing at Des Moines
Area Community College.
